Sri Ram Sena District President shot at, three arrested
Three people have been arrested by the police for their alleged involvement in the shooting of Sri Ram Sena Belgaum president Ravi Kokitkar. Belgaum police have succeeded in arresting two accused within 24 hours of the incident.
The arrested have been identified as Abhijit Bhatkande, Rahul Kodachawada and Jyotiba Gangaram. Belagavi City Police Commissioner Dr. Boralingaiah said that three persons including the accused who gave sufari to Ravi's murder have been arrested.
On Saturday evening, Ravi Kokitkar was traveling in his car when two people on a bike fired at him near Hindalaga village and fled. Ravi Kokitkar is currently the head of Sri Ram Sena's Belagavi district unit.
When the car slowed down on a road hump near Hindalaga village, the unidentified men opened fire. The bullet hit Ravi in the groin and then hit the driver's hand. Ravi Kokitkar and car driver Manoj Desurakar were injured in the attack and were admitted to the hospital for treatment. At present he is out of danger.
